Need a new iPhone? How about an unlimited talk text and data plan for $1 a month to go with it. Oh yeah and a free round trip companion ticket to the UK. Sounds ridiculous but that is what Virgin Mobile is offering partnering with Virgin Atlantic.
What are the requirements?
Buy an iPhone from Virgin Mobile at full price
You can buy the iPhone 7 Plus for $769.99 (32gigs) on the high end down to the iPhone SE for $279.99 (32gigs).
You must port your existing number over
That’s it. You’ll get service for $1 a month for the first 12 months plus taxes (you must be signed up for autopay). After the first 12 months it’s $50 a month for the plan.
Streaming video is capped at DVD quality and your data can be slowed down if you use more than 23 gigabytes a month.

Joining Virgin Mobile’s “Inner Circle” gives you access to a few more benefits.
Fly for freeeeeeeeee (when you pay for another ticket)
One benefit is a free round trip companion ticket (you have to pay for taxes) to the UK when you book and pay for a regular round trip ticket. A quick search from Dallas to London on Virgin leaving mid July gave round trip prices from $1,300-$2,100. That’s a lot of savings if you fly Virgin Atlantic.
Stay for free (when you buy two nights)
In addition, If you book two nights at a Virgin Hotels location you get a third night free. This is not as big of a benefit as there is currently only a Chicago location open and a San Francisco location slated to open later this year. There are several other locations in the US in development, however these other locations are not expected to open until 2019 or 2020.
Everyone love WINE
Don’t sleep (or maybe do, if you have a little too much wine) on the deal you can get on Virgin Wines. $59.99 for 15 bottles of wine (they claim an “over $230) value. If you like your wine this could be an added bonus!
Bottom line
If you’re in need of a new iPhone this could be a great deal to get in on. Make sure you understand the fine print that you have to buy a new phone and you’ll be paying taxes on the phone plan each month (even though the plan is only $1)
To take advantage of the companion ticket you will have to book through Virgin and it is only applicable going to the UK. The hotel benefit is limited, but could have some value in the future.
If you want to get in on this deal you can preorder your phone now (the plan can start as soon as June 27th), you must opt in by July 31st to get the full year at $1 a month.
